Neeru Yadav, Sarpanch of Jhunjhunu district’s Lambi Ahir village took an initiative to empower women. Mrs Yadav donated her salary for the education, skill development and sport activities of the village girls in the Shekhawati region. Mrs Yadav was elected as the Sarpanch of Lambi Ahir, falling Buhana tehsil, in Oct 2020.
After being elected as a Sarpanch she start a door-to-door survey to spread awareness among the girls to adopt skills for employment. She was successful in training 10 girls in the village under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. With the employment of the girls of one batch in any multinational corporation after the successful completion of their training, fifteen more girls showed interest and joined the village Panchayat skill development training which shall further start in some time, according to sources.
The Sarpanch also used her office for the benefits of the government’s schemes and for the betterment of the village girls from the grassroots. She did not stopped with that. She also donate her two years salary for buying sports kits for the girl’s hockey team who played at district level for the first time. Mrs Yadav also arranged for a private coach and transportation vehicle for the team to reach the ground.
Mrs Yadav got recently felicitation by the Rajasthan’s education department. After completing her post graduation in science she pursued doctorate. According to her, women can bring change in society and play an important role in bringing change in society. She further added that education is the basic need for creating any change or developing the society. She said, “Awareness about education needs to be spread in the villages to make meaningful changes in the rural areas”.
