Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh, was martyred in the terrorist encounter near Baramulla on 18th May. He managed to kill three Pakistani terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammad(JeM) who were supposed to carry out a suicide attack in Srinagar after infiltrating from across the border. Mudasir’s last message before his martyrdom has gone viral with the Braveheart addressing his ‘Ammi and Abbu’ for one last time.On May 28, he was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Uri, Baramulla in the evening.

Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh, was a 37-year-old serving in the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry, had joined the Forces out of a passion for the uniform.

When the body of Mudasir Ahmed Sheikh arrived wrapped in the tricolour in the midst of a gloomy atmosphere in the Baramulla Police Line, Ahmed Sheikh proceeded to pay his last respect . “Because of his sacrifice, a thousand other lives were saved. We are very proud of him today. He is not going to return back, but we are proud of him. I have lost my son on the battlefield, I am proud of him,” were the only words from a proud father
