Two weeks after a cyber attack crippled the waiters at the All India Institute of Medical lores( AIIMS), the system has not been fully restored as investigators anticipate further damage if it’s linked to the Internet.
A First Information report( FIR) filed by the Special Cell of Delhi Police on a complaint filed by an AIIMS security officer said that the sanitarium had been subordinated to a “ deliberate ” ransomware attack. The FIR states that one of the officers entered three attachments frome-mail druggies relating themselves as “ canine ” and “ mouse ” seeking a rescue of an unidentified quantum. The druggies asked AIIMS officers that they could shoot “ program and private key ” to the IT department of AIIMS to “ decipher the data ” and advised the officers to not use third- party software to repair the system as it may lead to endless data loss.
As soon as the attack was diagnosed, NIC officers reported the incident on the risk-free number of Computer Emergency Response System- India( CERT- IN).
DCP of cyber crime unit Prashant Priya Gautam has said: “The forensic images of impacted servers have been sent to the lab for analysis”.
