Shivajinagar’s Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce (MCASC) has hired new attendents and female security guards as part of its efforts to keep women safe on campus. Said, Chief, PhD. Rajendra S Zunjarrao.
“There will be security guards on every floor, and all of our guards are women,” said Zunjarrao. When asked about the women’s grievance office, the director said, “All committees are ready.”
This action was taken in connection with the recent attack on a 20-year-old university student on the streets of Sadashiv Peth. On Wednesdays, MCASC is packed with students, new students, parents and staff. The entrance is surrounded by booths set up by volunteers from the National Service Scheme (NSS) and National College Cadet (NCC).
The university offers 26 undergraduate programs, 23 graduate programs and 13 accredited doctoral research centres. “There are only a few seats left after the third round of applications. We hope that these positions will be filled in the next round of recruitment.”
Some courses start on Monday, but most undergraduate, graduate and bachelor of arts courses start on July 10. Referring to the most requested subject after students chose a subject this semester, Zunjarrao said, “In terms of literary history, many people prefer psychology over their major.
