An e-Mobility course for working professionals has been offered by the Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE), IIT Madras, providing an overview of the ecosystem in e-mobility and basic elements in technical areas such as battery engineering, vehicle development, thermal management, power electronics, power trains etc.

This programme has been organized keeping in mind about the market trends and industrial needs which will be upgraded time to time in relation with technology trends. The inputs from industrial experts is incorporated in this certification program. IIT Madras previously initiated a dual degree program last year, which was for BTech students, although they received queries from individuals in the auto industry regarding the necessity to more skilled and up-skill themselves since the industry is extensively expanding and the limelight is drifting towards electronic Vehicles, IIT Madras director, Professor V Kamakoti said. This new initiative will fulfill the need of working professionals from a wide variety of industries and departments since this program include the essential fundamentals on global and Indian market trends, supply chain trends etc. before starting technical details and majority of the modules is undertaken by the industrial professionals, further added.

The portal will remain open till September 30 for registration and classes will full-fledged start from October2.
