Addressing the latest in his series of post-budget webinars on Saturday, March 04; 2023, PM Modi boldly proclaimed that India would become a developed nation by 2047, and the path in making that notion a reality is by developing the country’s infrastructure and boosting the economy.
The webinar titled, ” Infrastructure and Investment”, saw the Prime Minister claim that this year’s budget would transform and impart new energy into the infrastructure sector. As first reported by the PTI He was positive that, “Gati Shakti National Master Plan is going to rejuvenate India’s infrastructure and multimodal logistics”.
PM Modi stressed that the State must place great focus on developing modern Infrastructure in the country going forward. Sharing his belief of the notion that Infrastructure development has always been a key component in a country’s progressive development.
He expressed displeasure and great anguish at the absence of importance placed on developing the country’s infrastructure post independence. In support of his views, he took the example of the average annual construction of National Highways that was now almost twice as compared to before 2014. He shared his intentions to place focus on skill development, project development, and entrepreneurship.
PM Modi further urged all government sectors to work on infrastructure development. “When infrastructure is developed, it automatically paves way for the growth of the country,” he added.
He also relayed that the government was working to create modern infrastructure in all areas such as roads, railways, ports and airports. “He expressed his hopefulness that modern Infrastructure development and advanced measures of transportation would help in enhancing the competitiveness of businesses and reduce logistics costs”.
