On Wednesday , an urgent appeal against an order of the Allahabad high court , was refused to be heard by The Supreme Court . Earlier on June 30 , the high court had issued the order after receiving two separate petitions filed by Kuldeep Tiwari and Naveen Dhawan seeking a ban on the film and directed the director Om Raut, producer Bhushan Kumar, and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir of the controversial film ‘Adipurush’ , a portray of the epic Ramayana, which have faced a lot of controversies for its dialogues and use of colloquial language , to appear before it on July 27 .
The high court told the central government to form a committee to give reviews on the film and
the secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to file their personal affidavits to inform whether the guidelines for certification of the film for public exhibition have been followed in letter and spirit.
On the other side the film industry is closely watching the decision of the supreme court , the case has also raised questions about the freedom of expression in India. The Supreme Court’s decision to ignore the appeal today paved the film makers way to appear before the Allahabad High Court on July 27. The high court will then decide whether to ban the film or not and the matter will be heard by the Supreme Court on Thursday.
