Dhoni made his tenth participation in an IPL final game, and despite being dismissed for a first-ball duck, it was a memorable one for the CSK captain. The Indian Premier competition (IPL), a lucrative competition, delivered again another show, with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) winning their fifth championship. In addition to the typical glitz, the competition featured some magnificent performances, with numerous uncapped Indian youngsters rising to the occasion and surpassing some of the biggest names in cricket.
Even MS Dhoni, who many believed was making his last appearance on the field of play, had his high points. Every site the renowned cricketer graced during the competition had large audiences, and the same is being felt on the other side of the border.
Ramiz Raja, a former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), stated that the 16th edition of the competition will be remembered for “the Dhonimania”.
In a video posted to his YouTube account, the former PCB president reflected on the events, including Sunil Gavaskar’s famous autograph from Dhoni, and said: “This IPL will be known for MS Dhoni and the colour yellow. His humility, the Dhonimania, his leadership, his composure, and his keeping will continue for all time. But more than anything, this IPL will be remembered for the exchange that took place when a veteran like Sunil Gavaskar asked MS Dhoni to sign his shirt. A greater compliment for MS Dhoni is impossible”.
In his tenth IPL final appearance, Dhoni had a memorable one despite being dismissed for a first-ball duck. For the fifth time, his team raised the IPL championship trophy, tying the previous record held by Mumbai Indians, who had won the most titles overall.
Raja also emphasised additional instances that he thought contributed to its “wow factor”
“Young batting talent like Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ruturaj Gaikwad will be known for it. These are the stars that will adorn these grounds for a very long time. The season will also be remembered for the great stars who didn’t play and the players from little-known countries who left a lasting impression. due to the fact that there is no assurance of a team’s success, even if the coaching staff includes well-known figures. The fans, tremendous shot-making, and great catches will make this IPL memorable. When under duress, bowlers tended to play better, as seen by the wickets they were able to secure. Gujarat Titans’ bowling and leg spin bowling will be recalled from the competition. This IPL was amazing. In IPL history, there has never been a bigger spectacle”.
