Zelensky visits Poland to thank allies and meet Ukrainians
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky visited neighboring country Poland on Wednesday to thank the country and its leader for their military support. He further said that it should become the key partner in the vast reconstruction of the country once Russia’s invasion is over. Zelensky quoted this help as a historic help.
On Wednesday, President Andrzej Duda said Poland would supply Ukraine with a total of 14 MiG -29 fighter jets. Duda also awarded his Ukrainian counterpart the order of the White Eagle, Poland’s highest honor. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife were welcomed with military honors, tributes, and praise in Poland on Wednesday at the start of a state visit meant as a gesture of thanks by Kyiv to its neighbor for its crucial support to Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s invasion.
“We have no doubt that your attitude, together with the bravery of the nation, has saved Ukraine” said Andrzej Furthermore, Zelensky stated after receiving the award “You have stood shoulder to shoulder with us, and we are grateful for it.”
