Bartholomew Ogbeche of Hyderabad FC, won the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 Golden Boot award with 19 goals in 23 matches. In the history of ISL, he became the highest scorer with 53 goals in 80 matches.
Ever since he joined NorthEast United FC in the 2018-19 season, the 37-year-old Nigerian striker, became one of the most consistent goal-scorers in the ISL. This season was significant for Ogbeche as he was not only the highest scorer of Hyderabad FC’s but also the highest scorer in the history of the ISL with 53 goals in 80 matches. He outperformed Sunil Chhetri and Ferran Corominas by breaking their joint record of 48 goals on January 31. Ogbeche scored a hat-trick against SC East Bengal which counted up to 3 hat-trik in ISL.
He has a remarkable record of being the top scorer for all the three clubs he played for- NorthEast United FC, Kerala Blasters FC and his current club, Hyderabad FC.
