Djokovic, the world number one, won a bronze medal in Beijing in 2008 but has failed to build on that success in 2012, 2016, and 2021. The Serbian hopes to be fit and healthy to display next year, when he will be 37. The Paris 2024 tennis tournament will be held on the Roland Garros claycourts, where Djokovic has won two of his 22 Grand Slam titles – in 2016 and 2021. Novak Djokovic has stated that he is already looking forward to next year’s Olympic Games in Paris, where he hopes to win a gold medal, one accolade that has always eluded him, in an otherwise glittering career.
“I’m looking forward to the Olympics,” Djokovic said after defeating Tallon Griekspoor in Dubai on Wednesday. “I’m hoping to be able to play in Paris next year healthy.” It’ll be played on clay at Roland Garros, so I’m familiar with the conditions. “I’m hoping for my best Olympic performance there.” Djokovic, the Australian Open champion, is in his 378th week at number one after surpassing Steffi Graf, and he says he is hungry for more records and success.
“I try to be very clear with myself about what my goals are, what I want from competitive tennis,” Djokovic said. “This is the way I’ve been brought up and taught by some of the most important people in my life, including my parents and some of the early coaches I had. “This kind of mentality helped me to always be so devoted to the game. I always remind myself that willpower, or the desire to succeed, is a necessary component of the overall formula.”The 2024 Summer Olympics is scheduled to be held in Paris, France, starting from the 26th of July 2024 till the 11th of August.
