CSK batter Ambati Rayudu recently exclaimed that he has a strong faith in Ravindra Jadeja. According to his calculations Jadeja who took over as the skipper of the CSK this year has strong potential to lead the Indian team in the future. Earlier when MS Dhoni relinquished his captaincy, Jadeja being the captain could not make a great start and had to start the campaign with five losses on the trot.
Rayudu, who had been one of the members of the Yellow Army since 2018, backed Jadeja to become better as he gained more experience in leading the IPL franchise. He further added to his statement that stepping into the shoes of ‘Mahi’ wouldn’t be a cakewalk by any means.
Rayudu addressed that the four-time IPL champions are going through a phase of transition and would soon be back in their form as they get over it. He mentioned that the Super Kings were looking to give chances to the young players. His tone suggested his confidence in the future of the team along with Jaddu’s leadership.
“There is a shift and it has to come. A lot of youngsters will continue to feature in CSK as the years go by. Having a young captain like Jadeja who has done it and seen it all, it will be great for them to be under him and have his confidence. They have the backing of the captain and I think he is going in the right direction and even the team is. CSK will be very, very successful under him,”
he added. Although the team suffered a poor start in the beginning, they managed to capture two of the last three matches. They currently lie in ninth place in the points table with 4 points and a net run rate of -0.534. The Super Kings are next scheduled to face Mayank Agarwal’s Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Monday, April 25 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
