4 people died and 9 others were wounded when the Russian missile hit an apartment block in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv , destroying the third and fourth floors of the apartment building though Russia regularly attacks Ukraine with missiles, artillery , drones, and painful power cuts often but it is likely to be the largest attack on Lviv’s civilian infrastructure since Russian ‘s invasion on Ukraine last year .

Lviv throughout the war served as a main transit point a calmer and safer place for millions of refugees from different parts of the country that crossed the border to Europe. Lviv also suffered power outages when Russia is aiming to destroy Ukraine’s energy system.

Ukraine’s Interior Ministry Ihor Klymenko later updated the number of injured to 32, including one child. The emergency services said they had managed to rescue seven people from the destroyed building and evacuated 64 others.

Ukraine’s air force said ,Russia attacked Lviv with 10 Kalibr missiles launched from the Black Sea, adding that seven of the 10 missiles were shot down.

The spokesperson for Ukraine’s air forces, Yuriy Ignat, said that newly supplied air defence systems were still insufficient to cover the entire country. A local resident Ganna Fedorenko said “Russians are hitting us. That’s how they love us. I’m sorry for those people who were killed. They were young. So sorry for them ……This is terrible. They hit civilians.”

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy tweeted, “Unfortunately, there are wounded and dead. My condolences to the relatives! There will definitely be a response to the enemy. A tangible one.”
