Despite failing to clear the recruitment examination thrice, Ankita Nagar(29-years), daughter of a vegetable vendor in Indore, conquered all hurdles and struggles of life to become a civil judge by clearing her recruitment examination on her fourth attempt. She has been appointed for the designation of Behavioral Judge (Civil Judge) Class-II.
She wanted to become a doctor since childhood but realizing its expenses, which her poor family was not able to afford, she started to prepare for civil judge examinations. She used to dedicate 10 hours daily to studying and followed a strict routine. Even most of her studies were dependent on government scholarships, said Ankita. After completing her bachelor’s degree in law, while pursuing her master’s, she decided to become a judge. Even after three unsuccessful attempts and dealing with her severe financial instability, Ankita Nagar neither gave up nor deviated from her goal of becoming a judge, and now she is an inspiration for many like her. She also ranked 5th in the SC quota merit list. Her father Ashok Nagar is a vegetable vendor in the Musakhedi area of Indore. She even used to help her father at work after completing her exam preparations. Ashok mentioned that both he and his wife compromised for several years to aid their daughter’s education and she, without any privilege, studied and cleared the exam. All of the hardships paid off and this was their dream that came true.
“We are proud of her. No one should force their daughters to marry but rather get them educated,” Ankita’s parents said. She will emphasize ensuring justice to everyone who comes to her court, said Ankita after starting her stint as a civil judge.
