Yesterday,Kolkata Noapara Metro Station CCTV catches a peculiar couple jumping on tracks in front of an oncoming metro at 12.48pm IST.

The exact moment was that a man jumped onto the tracks with a woman in the path of an oncoming metro train. Moments earlier, no one would have suspected anything as they seemed to be walking on the platform like any other passengers. Suddenly, the man lunges forward, hugs the woman and jumps onto the tracks just as the lights of an incoming metro get brighter and bigger.

The woman however managed to come over to the opposite track to escape from the brutal accident. Kolkata metro staffs immediately rushed to the spot where the incident took place and tried to get them off the tracks.

“I was walking behind them and when suddenly I saw that the man grabbed the woman and jumped into the track where the metro was incoming. I got so scared and thought that they are gone, but fortunately their fate made them stay alive and thanks to the metro staffs for their immediate actions taken in the rescue procedure of the couple” said one woman who was passing with them.

Finally they were out of the tracks overcoming the death like situation which they aroused themselves with severe injuries only. Reports from outside sources suggest that this was a suicide attempt made by the man and he wanted to take that woman along with him to the death. But there are conflicting reports coming as well after many analysis of the incident on the condition of the couple after the incident.

Nowadays suicide attempts are very common in the society. Rabindra Sarovar metro station is said to be one of the haunted places in Kolkata for numerous suicide attempts and deaths followed in the station. But this sudden suicide attempt in Noapara Metro station left the other public in the spot and the Indian society in shock.

After the sudden incident Kolkata police were informed about the incident and further procedures are being carried out after the rescue of the couple. However, the fact that lead them to attempt suicide is still unknown to the sources and police. The Kolkata metro staffs are made more vigilant towards the passengers coming and going through the metros after this incident. The couple’s are admitted in the hospital and are yet to answer many questions raised by the police.
