Amid of the new age cold war politics, the Russian Federation has clearly showed its intention of not bowing to the dominance and sanctions of the western allied forces like Nato.

Russian President on the night of 21st February through a television broadcast signed a decree of recognising and progressing the Russian troops to protect the rebel states of Ukraine which they consider as two new independent nations which will be called Donetsk and Luhansk.

The diplomatic excuse of Russia supporting separatist has given an upper hand to the russian army to progress futher in ukraine. When the entire western world was expecting the attack and fall of Kyiv. This tactical move of changing the maps of the world has given a boost to the Russian ambitions.

Followed by the Russian recognition of the Newly formed Republics, close allies like Iran and other depends of Russia will also give Donetsk and Luhansk offical recognition  in the near future.

On the other hand with the fading age of President Joe Biden the commitment of world leader america to support its allies and partners is seem to be evanescing. The present policy of the white house of not involving in direct conflicts has surely concealed the image of USA as a fading super power.

Whereas in challenge for countries like India are to resolve the dilemma of choosing between the expansionist desires of Russia anr democratic integrity of Ukraine. Russia and India has been a major defence and strategic partners, further India will face major concerns over the import of Oil from Russia if the situation worsen further.
