On Wednesday night, a fire inside the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata. Three fire fighters were dispatched right away to put out the flames.
At 9.10 p.m., fire broke in the departure lounge’s D Portal section. Passengers can obtain boarding permits at the D portal. The security checkpoint’s perimeter was also partially on fire.

According to the airport authorities, the fire started at 9:12 pm and was completely put out by 9:40 pm. The check-in process was suspended owing to smoke in the check-in facility, according to the authorities, and all passengers were safely evacuated.
The staff of the airline and the passengers were quickly evacuated. As of yet, no injuries have been recorded.
After an investigation, the cause of the fire will be determined.
Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, the union minister for civil aviation and steel, tweeted that a small but tragic fire had started at the Kolkata airport close to a check-in desk. I’m in contact with the airport director, and things are under control. The area has been cleared of both passengers and workers. Fortunately, no injuries have been recorded and everyone is safe. At 22:25 hours, check-in was once again underway. We’ll find out what started the fire as soon as possible.
