In the last 24 hours, 1,270 new coronavirus infections were reported which aggregated the COVID-19 cases of India to 4,30,20,723, which is the lowest since May, 2020, as per the data by the Union Health Ministry on March 28, 2022. The active cases of the country has further declined to 15,859. India reportedly witnessed the lowest one-day spike in about two years.
31 fatalities were reported since Sunday. 25 out of the 31 new fatalities were reported from Kerala. Since the start of the pandemic, the death rate is around 5,21,035. 0.29 per cent is the daily positivity rate whereas 0.26 per cent is the weekly positivity rate. 0.37 per cent is the positivity rate in 21-27 March week, the health ministry said.
On 27th March, around 4.2 lakh vaccine doses were given, out of which 96,881 doses were given to children of 12-14 age group. In the last 24 hours, over 20,000 booster vaccine doses were administered. Since the start of vaccine drive, around 183.26 crore vaccine doses have been administered.
