Indian Navy will become Aatma Nirbhar by the year 2047 and India will find all necessary made-in-India solutions for security requirements, believes Admiral Hari Kumar as he spoke on Sunday at an event in New Delhi held on the occasion of Navy week.

The recent Russia-Ukraine war situation has demonstrated the importance of indigenously developed security system to the whole world. Depending upon some other countries can backfire in any situation in the ever-changing global-political scenario explained the Navy Chief.

The recent development of INS Vikrant by the Indian Navy has been the torch bearer of indigenously developed security mechanisms and “Aatmanirbharta” for the Indian Armed Forces. “The government has given us clear guidelines on Atmanirbhar Bharat. We have given assurances that the Indian Navy will become Aatmanirbhar by 2047,” the Navy Chief said.

“There are very few countries that have the capability to make an aircraft carrier and we now form one of the elite,” he said. “It inspires self-confidence among us and it’s a shining symbol of our indigenous capability. The government has given us clear guidelines on Atmanirbhar Bharat. We have given assurances that the Indian Navy will become Aatmanirbhar by 2047,” the Navy Chief added.

The Indian Navy is now keeping a close watch on the Chinese ships and fishing vehicles operating in the Indian Ocean region, and in case of any emergency they are ” ready to go in harm’s way at really short notice.”
