Monsoon Season arrived on the Indian Coastal Plains and on Friday, Bengal was totally grabbed by the monsoon by inconsistent rain, like lightly showers will depend on the movement of a system over the Bay of Bengal, which is now off the Odisha and Andhra Coast also. Monsoon is one of the most important seasons on the comparison of others for it enters little after the Summer season. Monsoon gives relief to humans from a high degree of temperature in summer.

Based on the information provided, the southwest monsoon has now covered the entire state of Bengal, according to G.K. Das, director of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Kolkata. The states that the monsoon has reached are Bankura, Purulia, Jhargram, and East and West Midnapore.

On Friday, Kolkata experienced heavy rainfall in the afternoon, although it was not evenly distributed. For example, the area in front of the Eden Gardens was dry while DL Khan Road in Alipore, located less than 3 kilometers away, received heavy rainfall.

Meteorological officials attribute the current showers to a cyclonic circulation over the west-central and northwest Bay of Bengal. They expect this system to intensify into a low-pressure area and move towards land within the next 48 hours. Furthermore, it is anticipated that this system will aid in advancing the monsoon into Bihar and neighbouring regions.

The impact of the system on Kolkata and nearby areas will depend on its proximity to the Odisha coast. If the system moves closer to Odisha, it will have some effect on Kolkata and its vicinity. However, if it moves towards Bangladesh and Gangetic Bengal, the impact on these areas will be more significant, as explained by G.K. Das.
