Neeraj Chopra fails to retain the title of Diamond League on Saturday in Hayward Field track and Field stadium in Eugene.
Neeraj Chopra has already achieved such great standards for himself but unfortunately the respectable second-place finish in the prestigious Diamond League seems like a disappointment for himself as he failed to retain his Diamond League title (with a best effort of 83.80m), finishing second behind Czech power thrower Jakub Vadlejch (84.24m).
Vadlejch initially took the lead in his very first throw before finishing off with an 84.24m as the rest of the field, including Neeraj Chopra but never threatened him but this time Neeraj couldn’t make it to the title as his best attempt was made of 83.80m making him unable to achieve the Diamond League Title.
Two-times world champion Anderson Peters looked like a pale shadow of himself in Eugene. The Grenada star thrower’s personal best was of 93.07m but could not even cross the 75m mark at the iconic Hayward Field track and field stadium. However, instead of being disappointed he still attempted to take home the second position with a cheque of approx Rs 10 Lakhs.
