FC Barcelona under Xavi has been wholly transformed and the repurcassions have made their symbol on the El Classico Sunday as they outplayed Madrid with a 4-0 humiliation putting end to a 5 match winless streak streching from last 2 years. The Bernabeu has always been an hunting ground for major occasions by the catalans, and they didn’t fail to repeat the same course on Sunday evening. As Xavi stated, this match can be the landmark for Barca’s turnover since their struggling couple of years. The young revitalized team with the likes of future stars like pedri ,gavi, Garcia, Ferran, Araujo with experienced Sergio and pique has started showing their potential . Not to be forgotten the addition of Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang has boosted the striking line taking his tally to 9 goals in 11 appearences. This victory boosted the moral of the team as it is the first instance Barca won a classico after Leo’s departure. The last time was in 2019 when Messi was at his vintage attitude with the ball. Ancelloti’s side barely threatened the barca’s defence line other than Kroos getting a slight grounded in swinged push at the start of the match. It was a full strategical move by Xavi as he wanted the Modric brigade to fall to his tactical prey. The culers took their lead on the 29th minute when Aubameyang headed Dembele’s in swinged cross to home. Before getting back to the dressing room Araujo set the lead to comfortable zone with a sparking header from de jong’s corner.

The picture didn’t changed at the commence of the second half as the newly joined former Man City striker Ferran Torres set the cushion with his top cornered smooth strike from a clevered back hill assist from Pierre lefting the Belgian goalkeeper standstill at the very first minute of the second half. The Madrid defence kept on collapsing when Eric’s measured long ball was received and directed to a freely marked Aubameyang who cased his brilliance by a smooth flick over Tibo’s head and gear headed to a 4-0 lead on the very 50th minute indicating to a big humiliation as the Madrid defence seemed very vulnerable.

Anybody who could have least provided to resisting to a much more embarasssing defeat was Tibo Courtouis who denied the Barca players on numerous occassions for scoring and the match ended with the untilted scoreline. The Barcelona domination was throughout the match which didn’t allowed Ancelotti side even to play their normal game after even subbing off two players at the first half. They were creating spaces by streching down the defenders and penetrating the attacking zone. The absence of the French striker,Benzema was much more evident as Vinicius looked helpless in the frontline.

Of course we didn’t expect this scoreline, but we did everything we intended to do from the start, Everything went our way and we could have scored even more goals.

Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets said.

The captain looked optimistic with this win as he thinks their title hopes are very much alive ,”If we have a minimum chance, we will keep fighting. We know it’s going to be hard, but in soccer anything can happen. We are Barca” Added by the veteran defensive midfielder.

Barca stays on the number three spot with their 7th win from their last 8th la liga games just three points behind the runners up spot Sevilla. The Real Madrid still topping the table with 66 points with as many experts indicated this 9 points gap with Sevilla is the reluctant attitude they possessed after a spearheading victory on their home ground against PSG. “We played badly and they played well. Nothing worked for us. It was our first bad match this season. Maybe we were too relaxed because of our advantage in the standings.” reacted the Real coach.
