A student died after falling from a running bus in Tamil Nadu on May 31, 2022(Tuesday) around 1:00 PM in Salem, Tamil Nadu.
The horrifying incident was recorded in a security camera situated inside the bus; near the gate, and captured the situation in it’s entirety. After initial investigations the boy was identified as Abdul Kalam, a college student. Kalam as reported was returning from college and was taking the bus on his way home.
The incident took place while the bus was traveling near Chinna Tirupati at Salem. As per the footage recorded in the security monitor, there was another student besides Kalam that was trying to get off the moving bus.
According to the footage captured in the CCTV , he fell while attempting to get off from a moving bus.
After initial investigations, and collecting statements from fellow passengers and reviewing the footage, it was found that there was another student with Kalam who was trying to get off the moving bus as well. Then the next moment Kalam lost his balance while trying to descend the bus and slipped off the footboard the following instant. Kalam was crushed to death after falling and being knotted in the bus’s back tyre.
An inquiry has been launched and a complaint has been filed against the bus driver who reportedly refused to stop the bus when asked and a search has been started for the other student who is thought to have been allegedly responsible for Kalam losing his balance.
