The Night Manager recently released its second season on Disney+Hotstar and after its dynamic season the audiences are eagerly waiting to see what happens next, there’s a report of a spin off in discussion.
It is an Indian version, of The Night Manager 2016 starring Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie and Olivia Coleman which had an immense global success, as of the remake with Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Tillotama Shome and Shobhita Dhulipala as the leading actors. The plot goes like, Shaan Sengupta, a RAW agent (Aditya Roy Kapur), Tillotama as his boss, Shelly Rungta, a mafia leader (Anil Kapoor) and Shobhita in the role of his girlfriend.
The OTT show is based on John Le Carré’s novel The Night Manager and is going through something bigger than imagined before. The makers are trying out with a story of the lead characters as a spin off of the series. As per reports, the desi version of the show has been working on multiple spin offs based on Aditya Roy Kapur as Shaan Sengupta, Anil Kapoor as Shelly Rungta and even Shobhita Dhulipala’s character as Kaveri.
The source said, “Currently the producers have met a bunch of new writers who are brainstorming stories of certain characters. Shaan and Shelly’s journeys are two stories which are being concretely focused on, but they may be planning a back story of Kaveri’s life before she met Shelly. Shelly’s story is going to be an action series – with a lot of the Asian mafia being a part of it. While this is yet in the planning phase, there is no information about the directors on this.”
